Intentions Declared

This is a sinner's effort to grow closer to his one and only savior Jesus Christ.

Why is the Church, today, so lukewarm? Why are we so lukewarm? Can you honestly tell me you are truly hot for God? I know I am not, by the foul language that pours from my mouth to the haughty spirit I display to the Lost in my workplace. And then, there are also the things that should be so simple like, the lack of prayer in my life and reading the Word daily. The most gut wrenching prospect from this confession is the scripture in Revelation 3:15-16

I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So because you are lukewarm , and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.

......I have tried to write something "hard hitting" for the past 15 minuets, but I am speechless. This scripture hurts so much, but truth hurts. It divides and conquers. You can either turn to it and follow, or be crushed by it.

So, I ask myself, "How can I fix this?" Well here is the key, we have already been fixed! Ah ha! This is not a condemning, self righteous, "you need to be better" blog. I am acknowledging that I need to get back on the road and continue this journey to perfect sanctification. I want you to join me, not just by reading this blog, but by practicing what Jesus taught us, FOR REAL. How are we going to do this? I believe that a study of who Jesus was is something that can help hold us accountable to His teachings, I want to try and really communicate to the readers who Jesus was, by what scripture tells us.

Some of the resources I will be Bible, music by Rich Mullins, Shane & Shane, and some other sources that will be revealed in there time.

  2. Hey man! I'll try to follow along. It's weird timing because that's similar to what I've been leading my jr./soph. guys about. We aren't living out God's command to "be holy like I am holy" and that's why so often we produce garbage instead of things that bring Him glory. We see ourselves as "good with God" when we accept Him instead of the truth that what makes us legit is to actually FOLLOW Him, and that's the part that God cares about the most

  3. I love this. Challenging. I'm ready. I need it too. And we've been talking about the same stuff lately. Why do I keep doing the same things expecting different results? How can I expect to know God if I am not in His Word and seeking out the Holy Spirit's guidance in my everyday life. I want to live this stuff out for real. What does that look like?

  5. Yes, we need more of this in the Church. It seems like we study the Bible and like to hear different lessons from different pastors, but we don't really apply them. I mean, no matter how great a message is, how can it help you if you don't apply it because you are too busy listening to more messages.
